Meet Kayla + Tanner! They met through friends during college, but went to different colleges. So, enter long distance relationship here. By the White River in Batesville, Arkansas became their halfway meeting spot! If you know Batesville, there’s not a lot to do, so they spent most of their dates grabbing a sonic drink or ice cream and hanging out by the river! Here’s the story of their White River elopement!
Kayla reached out to me about her dream to elope at their halfway point, and I was all for it! Being from Batesville, I know the river lookout is such a special place for so many. It seems perfect! We nailed down August 12 as their day, and everyone was so so stoked for! <3
Flash forward to mid July, Kayla reached out and told me they decided to elope early and use their session as a second day shoot! I swear my heart leaped!! My heart gets SO full from couples that value their marriage over their wedding day! Making a life time commitment to someone is so much more than the wedding day. I was so over the moon for them and proud that they went against the grain of culture and got married! (With all that said, personally I wanted a wedding day and reception and all the things, so in no way am I saying anything negative about the brides who want the whole shebang <3)
For their second day session, we went to four different places around Batesville and three of them were on the white river! It was BEAUTIFUL! They were both so joyful and kind. Truly am so honored to have captured their love story.
The end, friends 🙂
